On this page

Every Zepio store comes with six policy pages, already filled with sample text. You only need to replace the sample details with your own, save, and add the pages to your store's footer.

Payment gateways such as Razorpay check these pages before they approve your KYC. Google Merchant Center checks them too before it shows your products on Google.

Where: Admin › Settings › Policies

The policies your store has

Policy What it tells customers
Return and refund policy If they can return an item, how many days they have, and how they get their money back
Privacy policy What customer details you collect and how you use them
Terms of service The rules for buying from your store
Shipping policy Where you deliver, how long it takes and what it costs
Contact information Your business name, address, phone number and email
Legal notice Your registered business details, if your country asks for them

Each policy has its own page on your store at yourstore.com/policies/<policy-name>, for example /policies/privacy-policy.

What the status means

Next to each policy you see one of these:

  • Sample content: the page is live, but it still shows our sample text. Edit it before you apply for KYC.
  • Published: you have edited and saved the text.
  • No policy set: the policy has no text. Add some before you link to it.

Edit a policy

  1. Go to Settings › Policies.
  2. Click the policy you want to change, for example Return and refund policy.
  3. Change the text in the editor. Look for words in square brackets, such as [INSERT STORE NAME], [INSERT EMAIL] or [INSERT RETURN ADDRESS], and replace each one with your own details.
  4. Click Save.

If you cleared the text and want the sample back, click Insert template. It fills the editor with the sample text, and nothing changes on your store until you click Save.

The sample text is a starting point, not legal advice. Read it through and change anything that does not match how your store works, such as your return window or delivery areas.

Payment gateways look for these links in your store's footer, on both mobile and desktop.

  1. Go to Design › Themes and click Customize on your live theme.
  2. Open the Footer section.
  3. Under Columns of links, click Add a column, or open the column you want to use.
  4. Type a Heading, such as Policies.
  5. In Where the links come from, choose Links I add here.
  6. Click Add a Link, choose Policy as the link type, and pick a policy.
  7. Repeat for each policy, then click Apply changes.

To share a single policy, such as in a WhatsApp message or a payment gateway form, click Copy URL next to it in Settings › Policies.

Pages that are not policies

An About Us page is not one of the policies. Razorpay and some other gateways ask for one too, so create it in Pages. See How to create pages in Zepio.
