On this page

Blue Dart is a fast express courier, often used for high-value parcels. With Blue Dart connected, you book a waybill from the order, print Blue Dart's label and book the pickup in one step. Blue Dart charges your contract rate, so Zepio shows the delivery date instead of a price.

Where: Admin › Settings › Delivery Setup › Courier partners › Blue Dart

Before you start

You need a Blue Dart business account with API access. Blue Dart sets this up through your account manager. Ask them for:

  • Login ID and Licence key for the API
  • Customer code
  • Origin area code: the three-letter Blue Dart code of the area you ship from, for example BOM or BLR
  • A Tracking licence key, if your account uses a separate one

Then, on the Blue Dart developer portal, create an app to get a Client ID and Client secret.

Connect Blue Dart in Zepio

  1. Go to Settings › Delivery Setup. Under How do you deliver orders?, choose Courier partners and click Apply changes.
  2. Under Courier partners, click Blue Dart.
  3. Choose Environment: Live, or Test (staging) if Blue Dart gave you sandbox details.
  4. Enter every detail from above and click Connect. Zepio checks them with Blue Dart.

Choose your product

Under Shipping options, choose the Blue Dart product code your contract covers:

  • A: Dart Apex (air)
  • D: Domestic Priority
  • E: Dart Surfaceline (ground)

Not sure? Ask your Blue Dart account manager which product code to use. Cash on delivery orders are booked as COD automatically.

Pickup addresses

Blue Dart takes the pickup address with every waybill. Under Pickup addresses, check each branch address and add a Pickup contact name and 10-digit Pickup phone, then click Save.

Ship an order

  1. Open an order in Processing and add the package size and weight.
  2. Click Get rates. Blue Dart shows its expected delivery date and Contract rate.
  3. Click Ship. Pick a pickup date to book the pickup together with the waybill, or leave it empty and use Book pickup later.
  4. Click Book shipment, then Print label.

Blue Dart issues the label only when the waybill is created. Zepio saves it then, so you can print it again any time.

Tracking updates

Blue Dart does not send updates on its own. Zepio checks every Blue Dart shipment every 30 minutes and updates your orders. Click Refresh on the shipment card to check right now.

If something goes wrong

"Blue Dart did not accept this Client ID and secret" Check the Client ID and secret of your app on the Blue Dart developer portal, and that Environment matches them.

Login ID or licence key errors These come from your Blue Dart account manager, not the developer portal. Ask them to confirm the details are active for the API.

Waybill refused for a pincode Blue Dart has no service there for this product. Try another product code or another partner.

Tracking shows no updates Some accounts use a separate tracking licence key. Add it under Tracking licence key and click Save and reconnect.
