How Refer and Earn Works

Refer and Earn is a feature that allows your existing customers to invite their friends to your store and both will get rewarded for it. This helps you get more new customers while rewarding your current customers for bringing them.

How Refer and Earn Works

1. The person who refers (Referrer) – This is your existing customer who shares the referral link.
2. The person who is referred (Referee) – This is the new customer who installs the app and places their first order using the referral link.

Rewards Flow:

• Referee (new customer) gets their reward instantly after signing up using the referral link.
• Referrer (existing customer) gets their reward only after the referee places their first order.

Where Does the Reward Amount Go?

In Plugins > Refer and Earn > Settings, you can choose where the reward amount should go for both referrer and referee:

1. Wallet

   • The reward amount credited to Wallet can be fully used by the customer when placing any order.
   • Example: If the customer has ₹100 in Wallet, they can use all ₹100 for an order.

2. Reward Wallet

   • The reward amount credited to Reward Wallet will follow the usage limit you set in Plugins > Rewards Points.
   • Example: If a customer has ₹100 in Reward Wallet but the admin has set a limit of ₹20 usage per order, then the customer can use only ₹20 per order even if they have ₹100.

Steps to Configure Refer and Earn

1. Login to your Zepio admin panel.

2. From the left side menu, go to Plugins > Refer and Earn.

3. Enable the Refer and Earn plugin by toggling it to On.

4. Enter the reward amount you want to give to:

   • Referrer (existing customer) – rewarded after referee places their first order.
   • Referee (new customer) – rewarded instantly upon signing up.

5. Choose where the reward should go for both (Wallet or Reward Wallet) based on your business strategy.

6. Enable Referral Code Input:

   • Allow new users to enter a referral code during registration if they have one from their friend.
   • This ensures they receive the referral benefits even if they did not click the referral link directly.

7. Set Referral Welcome Page:

   • Instead of directing users to the homepage when they click a referral link, you can choose to show a special welcome page with details about the referral benefits and your store welcome message.

8. After entering all details, scroll down and click Save or Apply Changes to activate the settings.

How Customers Use Refer and Earn

• The existing customer shares their referral link or code from their account.
• The new customer installs the app or signs up using that link or enters the referral code during registration and places their first order.
• Rewards are credited to both accounts as per your setup.

• Using Refer and Earn is a simple way to grow your customer base without spending much on ads.
• Make sure to clearly explain the reward benefits and referral process to customers on your website to encourage them to share and earn.
