Difference Between Wallet and Reward Wallet

Your Zepio store has two types of wallets for customers - Wallet and Reward Wallet. Both have different purposes and usage limits.


What is Wallet?

  • Wallet is like a prepaid balance for the customer.
  • Amount in Wallet can be used 100% while placing any order.
  • Example:
    If a customer has ₹200 in their Wallet and places an order worth ₹300, they can use the full ₹200 from their Wallet and pay the remaining ₹100 via other payment methods.

What is Reward Wallet?

  • Reward Wallet is used to credit cashback or rewards with limited usage per order.
  • The admin sets how much a customer can use from Reward Wallet per order in Plugins > Rewards Points.
  • Example:
    If a customer has ₹100 in Reward Wallet but the admin has set a limit of ₹20 usage per order, then the customer can use only ₹20 for an order even if they have ₹100 balance.

How Admin Can Credit or Debit Amount

  1. Login to your Zepio admin panel.

  2. From the left side menu, go to Dashboard > Customers.

  3. Click on the customer name you want to update.

  4. Navigate to:

    • Wallet tab to credit or debit Wallet balance.
    • Rewards tab to credit or debit Reward Wallet balance.
  5. Enter the amount to add or remove, select credit or debit as required.

  6. Click Update Wallet or Update Rewards to save changes.


Example for Better Understanding

Scenario:

  • You run a promotion where customers get ₹50 cashback credited to Wallet and ₹50 scratch card reward credited to Reward Wallet.

Result:

  • Customer can use full ₹50 from Wallet for any order.
  • From Reward Wallet, if admin has set limit to ₹20 per order, they can use only ₹20 per order even if balance is ₹50.

Note

Using both Wallet and Reward Wallet wisely helps in offering better customer loyalty programs while keeping your promotional costs under control.
